Magento coding standards

I recently started working extensively with Magento and Code sniffer, and I would like to know which standards I should follow.

I tried Zend coding standards, but I don’t want to use the 80 line limit, and it’s not used in the core either.

After that, I tried CS2 standards, but that doesn’t work either because of the _ in various functions, and class names, which have an _ in them, and don’t have namespaces.

Adding an introductory message to your contact form

I was recently asked to add an introductory paragraph above the default magento contact form, before any of the form fields. A static block was the most logical way to do this, so the client could modify and/or change this paragraph whenever they needed to. We first made a static block called ‘contact-welcome’, containing the intro paragraph:
We would love to hear from you.
Whether it is questions, complaints, feedback, dreams, or ideas for improvement.
Please contact us at any time.

Magento, undeniably the fastest growing eCommerce Platform in the market, always ensures that their platform also grows as the merchants using the platform continue to grow.  Over the years Magento has constantly innovated to enrich its features.

As we all know recently Magento Launched new versions of both of its Magento Community and Magento Enterprise edition.

Magento Enterprise Edition 1.13 (Magento Enterprise 1.13) has been developed to be the most powerful and scalable version of Magento ever. It will enable large merchants to manage their ever growing number of store visitors and buyers with more ease without hampering their back-end operations.

But as per the standard Business Requirements, a mid-size organization has many associated business processes along with Sales Operations which move in parallel, like Purchase and/or Production Cycle, Finance & Accounting, Inventory and Warehouse Management, After Sales Service Management, Delivery and Shipment etc.

How to Disable Cache in Your Magento Store

How to Disable Cache in Your Magento Store

Why would you like to disable cache?

Well probably you wouldn’t. Especially not when your store is already live an fully functional. But on developing stage, disabling the cache would make it possible for you to immediately test and control the fluent changes you are constantly applying to your theme, locale files or scripts. Not disabling cache in this case will cause a huuuge frustration. Not to mention an almost irrepressible desire to bang your head against the nearest break wall! Not at all recommended, and may be avoided quite easily like so:

In the back office, go to system => configuration => cache management.

Check marked the checkboxes near layouts, block HTML Output and Translations
